Palm Springs Resident
Any resident or owner of property within the city limits of the City of Palm Springs may apply for a free adult resident borrower's card at the Palm Springs Public Library. The borrower's card will be valid for a period of three years from the date of issue. Resident borrower's card eligibility may be established by presenting any of the following documents at the time of application:
1) A valid California Driver's License or California Identification Card listing Palm Springs as the legal address; or
2) A tax certificate or other appropriate document from the Riverside County Recorder's Office which shows the applicant to be the current owner of real property in the City of Palm Springs, not to include time share ownership.

Non Palm Springs Resident
Any member of any public library in the state of California may receive a free Palm Springs nonresident library card upon presentation at the Circulation desk of a valid borrower's card from one of those libraries and a valid California Driver's License or California Identification Card.

Fee Card
Fee cards may be purchased at the Circulation desk for $30 for a period of one year; $20 for a period of three months; or inquire at the Circulation desk in person or at (760) 323-8292 for information on our special two-for-$40 cards.

Library Cards for Minors
Children and teens who attend school in the Palm Springs Unified School District are eligible for a free library card. This includes Head Start, elementary schools, middle schools and high schools.
Children and teens with a Riverside County Library card are eligible for a free library card as well. Ask at the Youth Room or call (760) 323-8199 for information about fee-based cards for minors on long term visits to Palm Springs.
Parent or legal guardian must sign the minor’s application form for a library card.
