The Friends of the Palm Springs Public Library (FOPSL) are enthusiastic library supporters who promote an informed interest in the library and encourage and administer dues, gifts and bequests to the library. Library Friends sponsor a book club and several fund raising programs and service events to help raise money or materials for the library.
Meetings are held at 3pm on the third Tuesday of the month (except for July and August) in the Palm Springs Public Library’s Conference Room.
Friends Book Club meets on the third Friday of the month at 2:00pm in The Learning Center at the library and is open to everyone. Members of the Club read the selected book for the month, then join in lively discussions. The Book Club votes on reading list selections once a year. Click the button below for current titles. Membership in FOPSL is available on several levels ranging from single and family to life memberships. Dues starting at $20 for a single membership are payable annually. All organizational proceeds are used to benefit the Palm Springs Public Library. Membership envelopes to join the Friends are available at the library, or click the button below for a form to print out and mail in with dues.
FOPSL Newsletter is published quarterly and covers the activities of the Friends and news of the library. Copies of The Newsletter are mailed to FOPSL members or may be picked up in the library.
BOOK BUYERS' BONANZA - The Friends need book donations. Please recycle your books by giving them to the library at the circulation desk. Larger donations can be unloaded at the back door. All donations are tax deductible. ONGOING BOOK SALE: There are four large book shelves next to the circulation desk in the library containing books available for immediate purchase at bargain prices.
